Stanhopea in bloom
I got a call from my contact at Dr Delphinium this morning. Their Stanhopea is in full bloom. I didn’t wait long to get there, because those blooms last only a few days. I wanted to see it in its full glory.
The unusual characteristic of Stanhopeas is that the flower spikes grow downward from the bottom of the plant. The blooms are very firm and waxy, and look like they will last a long time. But they don’t. That’s what pictures are for, I suppose. Enjoy.
