Protein – no animals, no allergies – plant based diet is better
The first question people ask of vegetarians and vegans is, “But how do you get your protein? Don’t you need meat for protein?” The commonly-held belief is that protein from animal products is required in order to build and maintain muscles. Actually, there are better sources of protein than meat – sources which don’t add to the rapid deforestation of our planet. Consider, for example, how horses eat. Horses spend their entire lives eating grains and other vegetable matter. Yet their musculature is so superb, we measure electrical motors in terms of “horsepower”. Horses do just fine on a plant-based diet, and so do people. In fact, a plant-based diet has many health benefits, including reduced incidence of allergies. Read the full article here.
