This Philippine orchid species is the subject of my next painting. It is a Trichoglottis fasciata, and it has a lovely lilac-like aroma.

I purchased it last weekend at the Greater North Texas Orchid Society‘s show. 

My very first orchid that I ever bought was this same species, and I have an emotional attachment to it. I couldn’t wait to get home and start painting it. It will be in the watercolor gallery soon.
