Brassavola nodosa has delicate white blooms and remains a favorite subject for paintings
My very first orchid painting is of a Brassavola nodosa. It is a beautiful, delicate flower, which I am delighted to have in my collection. I like to joke about it and say that it is one of the few orchids in my greenhouse that has survived the “paintbrush curse”. It is sad how many plants I have lost at some point after painting them. But maybe it isn’t having to pose for a painting that does them in. I suspect the stress of enduring those Dallas summers may have something to do with it. At any rate, this lovely lady has done quite well. In fact, she has never had so many blooms at one time.
