A biologist’s manifesto for preserving life on Earth
Biologist E.O. Wilson has proposed a plan for how we can preserve biodiversity and ensure the survival of the majority of the Earth’s species of plants and animals. But time is of the essence. We have to make the commitment, and take definitive steps right away.
Wilson’s plan is described in detail in in marvelous recent book “Half-Earth”. But his ideas have been taken up by major environmental magazines, as well. In the January/February issue of Sierra Club’s magazine his excellent article lists the eight steps required to put the plan into action.
